Andreas grew up with two sisters. Thanks to his father, who was a skier Andreas started to jump. Also interesting is the fact that as a young boy Andreas practiced also other sports disciplines, among others:
- football,
- handball,
- cross-country skiing,
- Nordic combined and golf.

In 2004, Andreas made his debut in the Continental Cup - on the competition in Brotterode where was on 49th place. Andreas was attended in the competition FIS Cup where he made his debut in 2005 in Predazzo
